TIPS TO WRITING YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT


When placing your wedding announcement you will have so many details that you will want to include but there will also be information you might forget. Here are a few things you should definitely put into your wedding announcement.

1. The date and place and time you are getting married.
2. Who is marrying you?
3. Readings and prayers by.
4. If reception location is different from the ceremony.
5. Parents and Grandparents of the Bride along with city of residence and where the bride was raised.
6. Parents and Grandparents of the Groom along with city of residence and where the groom was raised. (If siblings are not part of the bridal party include them with the parents)
7. Who escorted the bride down the isle?
8. Description of the wedding dress (let’s face it the wedding page is the woman’s sports pages and what woman does not love to hear about the fashion.)
9. Bridal attendants.
10. Bridal party dress description.
11. Groom’s Attendants.
12. Ushers, Flower Girls, and Ring Bearers.
13. How the night ended and where the rehearsal dinner was hosted and by whom.
14. The Bride’s schooling.
15. The Bride’s current occupation.
16. The Groom’s schooling.
17. The Groom’s current occupation.
18. Location of honeymoon.
19. City the couple will reside in.

In some cases a personal Thank You note to the parents is included at the bottom thanking those who attended and those who helped with the wedding.
